Agape

Agape means love, as in the love of God. It is a wonderful encouragement to the Pilgrims to remind them that they are being uplifted in loving prayer throughout the weekend. As you make or purchase agape gifts for the Pilgrims it becomes a blessing to you as you lift the Pilgrims and Team to the Lord in prayer. Who makes these gifts of agape? As a sponsor of a Pilgrim on a Walk to Emmaus weekend, it is a generally expected that you will make or purchase gifts of agape for the pilgrims and/or team on the weekend. (Remember, this is one of the things you agreed to do when you signed the Walk to Emmaus Application for your Pilgrim.) It is also common for Reunion Groups to make or purchase gifts of agape for a particular Walk. Sometimes certain Reunion Groups make agape gifts for multiple Walks or for all Walks. However, you do not have to be a Sponsor or part of a Reunion Group to make or purchase agape gifts. You just have to have a loving Spirit. When you make your gifts, you may want to attach a label with a particular scripture or simple phrase associated with your gift. You may also want to add your Reunion Group name or church name. These gifts are to actually represent God’s love and therefore we should remain as anonymous servants.

  • 82 pieces if you intend for the entire team and the pilgrims to receive your agape

  • At least 48 pieces if your agape is to be worn (Pilgrims & Table Leaders). Agape meant to be worn will not be distributed if there is less than 56 pieces.

Prayer is the most important Agape - Call the prayer chief to let them know you are ready to sign up.
